Farmington, PA (January 10, 2012) – Nemacolin Woodlands is preparing to celebrate the resort’s 25th Anniversary in 2012.  Purchased by Joseph A. Hardy in 1987, the resort has grown from a small hunting retreat to one of only eight properties worldwide to boast both AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star lodging and dining.  The vision of the Hardy family is evident in nearly all of the 2,000 acres of this world-class resort.

“Our Silver Anniversary year will be like none other in our history,” explains Chris Plummer, General Manager of the luxury resort located southeast of Pittsburgh.  “While this property and all of its amenities and offerings are unique, our guests truly are our greatest assets and this celebration will focus on them,” reports Plummer.  Memorabilia displays and a  special video release will kick-off the festivities that are planned throughout  2012.

Preparation for the yearlong celebration actually started last September with renovations to the resort’s conference center and ballrooms. “We felt that it was time to update our meeting spaces and refresh the look of both the Marquis and Grand Ballrooms” said Plummer. “Along with those changes, our Club Room has undergone a total transformation and many of these spaces will play host to anniversary events.”

Themed weekends, a Silver Anniversary contest as well as special packages and a sale of unique commemorative items are just a few of the projects that are being planned to celebrate the rich history of the luxury resort southeast of Pittsburgh.  What began as a 35 room hunting lodge with two tennis courts and a nine-hole golf course is now a 2,000 acre playground with 318 magnificent guestrooms, a world-class spa, field club, two championship golf courses, ski slopes and more than 15 restaurants and lounges. “Nemacolin Woodlands has truly been a labor of love for our entire family”, explains Maggie Hardy Magerko, President and Owner.  “Even though I’ve been a part of the entire process, I still marvel at what the resort has become and the number of guests that have been visiting since our early years.”

While there will be a number of promotions excusive to their Silver Anniversary year, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort recently introduced a two-night Celebration Package for the first quarter of 2012  featuring special rates, amenity credits and gifts with guests being encouraged to add a third night for $25.00.  Throughout the year, guests and vendors are welcome to share their resort memories as well as videos or photos via Nemacolin’s Facebook page and upcoming anniversary happenings will be detailed on the resort’s event calendar at nemacolin.com.
