Hidden Valley Resort
Hidden Valley Resort, KDKA Television and their sister station Pittsburgh’s CW will present the second annual Family SnowBlast January 22 through January 31, 2010. With all of the snow and awesome conditions, this is the perfect time to rediscover Hidden Valley and celebrate winter with your favorite KDKA personalities.
“This event has instantly become one of the most popular weeks of the season,” commented Robert Duppstadt, resort spokesperson. “Family SnowBlast features a variety of fun events on the snow for guests of all ages. If you are not a skier, you can look forward to Orange Crush Family Snow Tubing Parties, Bury the Bone Game – presented by Dad’s Pet Food, or the Family Life FunZone. “Family SnowBlast is a partnership between Hidden Valley, KDKA-TV and Pittsburgh’s CW, which we believe will encourage people to get outside and shake off the winter blues,” commented Chris Pike, vice president and general manager of KDKA-TV and Pittsburgh’s CW.
Guests will have a chance to meet and greet their favorite KDKA-TV on-air personalities throughout the week. Jeff Verszyla will ski with guests on Friday, January 22, Ken Rice will host a mach version of the Price is Right on Saturday, January 23, Bob Pompeani will be the one to beat in Snow Golf on Sunday, January 24, and Jim Lokay and Jon Burnett will host Orange Crush Family Snow Tubing parties. Kristine Sorenson, Rick Dayton, Jennifer Antkowiak, Trina Orlando and Ross Guidotti are all slated to be participating, hosting and enjoying events throughout the ten day event.
If you have ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a television station, you can see first hand when Pittsburgh Today Live is broadcast in part at the resort on both Friday, January 22 and Friday, January 29. Watch as several stories are aired live at Hidden Valley.
This year’s Family SnowBlast will feature a new relationship with the Family Life Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. They will be hosting the Family Life FunZone on Saturday, January 23 and Saturday, January 30 in the Clock Tower. Parents and kids will enjoy face painting, crafts, a Wii station, games, live music with Steve and Jake Zoffer and more. There will be an admission to the Family life FunZone with all proceeds benefiting the Family Life Fund of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The great people of the Family Life Fund will also host the Family Life Foodzone on Sunday, January 24 and Sunday, January 31 in the Southridge room. The Family Life Foodzone will feature a “candy bar,” smoothies and cookie decorating for a nominal fee. Again, all proceeds will benefit the charity. For the adults, Bill Deasy, a well-known Pittsburgh musician, and Root 19, another popular Pittsburgh area band, will donate their time to help raise money for the Family Life Fund. On Saturday, January 23 Bill Deasy will perform, and Root 19 will entertain the crowds on Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30. A cover charge will be collected for all performances and all proceeds will benefit the charity. “There will be good times and a great opportunity for guests of all ages to help raise money for the Family Life Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation,” added Duppstadt.
