The menu of things to enjoy at Hidden Valley Four Seasons Resort is about to expand with the opening of the Hidden Valley Stables. The resort has partnered with Double K Stables to manage the new operation.
Double K Stables has a facility in nearby Somerset, where they offer a variety of services to both the casual and serious rider. Owners Rich and Marilyn Ogle pride themselves in offering an intimate and friendly atmosphere while maintaining a high level of horse care. They are committed to offering safe, healthy, educational and fun services and programs which promote good horsemanship practices for the enjoyment of the horse and rider. “We are excited about our partnership with Hidden Valley and the opportunity to expand our operations and offer another great outdoor experience to visitors to the Laurel Highlands,” commented Rich Ogle.
The Hidden Valley Stables will open Saturday, August 8. Initial services will be guided trail rides. Guests will enjoy a unique view of the mountains on wooded trails. “In addition to the experience of the ride, we also want the guest to have a better understanding of the animal and horsemanship,” added Ogle. Double K will be offering horsemanship camps and other programs at Hidden Valley in the future. “We are working toward offering additional activities and amenities for our guests, and horseback riding is a popular request,” stated Robert Duppstadt, resort spokesperson. “Double K is the perfect partner for Hidden Valley. Their commitment to quality guest service fits well with our mission to provide the best family experience and memories.”
Double K Stables has been offering visitors unforgettable experiences for years. Aimee Weis, a Laurel Highlands Insider, shares her first horseback riding adventure with Double K Stables:
“It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in June when we arrived at the stables. Looking around the landscape, we observed the horses that were ranging throughout the fields, enjoying the fresh summer air. After a few quick notes from our tour guides, our hour-long journey began. We rode up the mountains, through the green meadows and alongside the small streams that encompassed the trail. The horses enjoyed some foliage from the trees as we continued to admire the rolling hills. When the tour concluded, we were already planning our next trip to the stables!
The guides at Double K Stables were exceptional, and made my first time horseback riding experience unforgettable. It was a great day & a great way to enjoy nature and experience the beautiful landscapes of the Laurel Highlands with the Double K Stable’s friendly staff and their remarkable horses!”
