Thor’s Big Day in the Laurel Highlands

When my friends asked me if I wanted to go for a ride I expected a day at the park. But when my nose hit the sweet smell of nature I knew I was in store for an adventure. We passed moos, chirps and neighs on the farm countryside, and ended up at Ohiopyle where I could dive in for a swim.
There were so many small woodland creatures running about. I chased squirrels up trees and bunnies into their holes, and I even heard the birdies laugh at me. Have you ever tried to catch a bird? I think it’s impossible. They had some quick moving water out there, luckily my owner had me on a 30’ leash and helped me come back to shore with that current. We then found a pond area where I could just wade and doggy paddle in the water and soak up the sun while it was glistening of off the pond. Soon enough I spotted some small fish, it was around lunch time so I though I would try to catch one. I came very close a couple of times, but I have a tendency to close my eyes right before I go for the grab so they kept on getting away. Then my owner called me over (I thought we might be leaving), but he brought some food for me (he’s always thinking). I ate some food, then it was off to see more sites.
My friends stopped by the Bear Run Nature Reserve and Fallingwater, but I had to wait outside with my owner and watch cars pass by.
We went a different way when we left, it was so beautiful outside with so many different smells, I believe we took route 711 which is a scenic byway (next time I’ll tell them I’ll walk). I can’t wait to share my adventure with my cousins; hopefully they can join me next time for a swim and a relaxing day.
Til next time … woof woof!
